Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Clinical Research and Audit Assistant to support the delivery of the Mental Health Work Streams at East Midlands Ambulance Service.
The post holder will work within the Clinical Audit and Research Unit supporting the Mental Health Team to in accordance with Local and National priorities. There are 4 specific aspects to this post:
- To support the CARU team in collating eCPI and ACQI reports.
- To collate and produce reports on the Trusts Mental Health data and that of wider partners, which involves liaising with other ambulance services and ensuring that the data is accurate and timely.
- To populate data registries and ensure that the information is disseminated to audit leads in a timely manner.
- To work on research projects as directed by the Head, Deputy Head of CARU or Research and Evaluation Manager.
Main duties of the job
- By agreement with the Head/Deputy Head of CARU and Research and Evaluation Manager, ensure with other team members the implementation the Clinical Audit Plan for Mental Health within the Trust in accordance with National and Local priorities.
- Using clinical audit data provides evidence in support of the effectiveness of clinical practice.
- Carry out an evidence search as appropriate to identify information relating to the effectiveness of any considered new practice.
- Assist in management and analysis of complex datasets using spreadsheets, databases and other software tools.
- Prepare data from a range of sources.
- Liaise with research teams to co-ordinate research within the trust.
- Carry out checks for data quality and consistency, investigating discrepancies and taking action to resolve. This may involve reporting issues to line manager, contacting data providers for missing data and running further checks on data accuracy.
- Reformatting and manipulating data appropriately.
- Run and disseminate regular activity and performance reports using a wide range of data sources.
- Ensure information is provided to a cycle of deadlines and timely, high quality reports are presented in line with departmental procedure or precedent.
- Attend mandatory training as required by the organisation and any other training identified as necessary within the team.
- Attend meetings as required.
