Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for providing a comprehensive financial management, costing and advisory service, supporting the Head of Financial Management, Deputy Director of Finance and Budget Managers within the Trust, in accordance with agreed timescales and professional standards.
Main duties of the job
To support the designated Heads of Departments on financial management issues including the provision of accurate monthly financial information and advice so that the Trust can discharge its financial responsibilities.
Responsible for the accurate setting of income and expenditure budgets for designated Departments/Directorates of the Trust and to monitor those budgets over the course of the year. Maintaining the integrity of the budgetary control system is vital throughout the year.
Ensure financial plans are accurate and feasible whilst guiding management action where necessary to ensure delivery of financial balance and achievement of cost improvements/efficiency savings within the designated Departments/Directorates.
Provide timely and accurate budget reports to the Head of Financial Management and designated Budget Managers within the Trust complete with explanations of the major variances.
Production of financial forecasts and dealing with ad hoc requests from the senior Finance team/budget managers.
Reviews cost improvement plans and advise on opportunities for further cost improvements, efficiency gains or income generation.
Assists with the completion of the annual accounts and other financial returns required throughout the year,
