Job summary
We are currently looking to employ Qualified Ambulance Technicians to join Nottinghamshire A&E Division on a bank basis. As an Ambulance Technician you will serve our diverse community responding to 999 calls as part of an emergency ambulance crew. You will deal with a range of different people and situations and use clinical guidelines to manage and direct patients to the most appropriate care pathway.
You must be already working as a fully Qualified Technician, with at least 12 months experience as a Newly Qualified Technician and holdoneof the following clinical qualifications:
- IHCD Technician/Ambulance Aid
- Futurequals Level 4 Associate Ambulance Practitioner (AAP)
- Qualsafe Awards FREC 5 (underpinned by evidence of FREC 3 & 4 and SALM), Diploma in First Response Emergency & Urgent Care
We are also interested in hearing from applicants holding alternative clinical qualifications:
- British Red Cross Ambulance Technician Qualification (BRC Technician underpinned by IHCD BRC Ambulance Crew)
- St John Ambulance Emergency Transport Attendant (ETA)
- Class 1 Combat Medical Technician (CMT)/RAF, Royal Navy Equivalents
You will be required to undertake a minimum of 1 shift a month to support with service delivery, within 24/7 operational hours, covering a variety of shift patterns.
Main duties of the job
As an Ambulance Technician you will serve our community responding to 999 calls as part of an emergency ambulance crew. You will deal with a range of different people and situations and use clinical guidelines to manage and direct patients to the most appropriate care pathway.
- AFC Band 5 (27,055 - £32,934) + unsocial hours enhancement as per the current Agenda for Change terms and conditions of service.
- Attend cases of accident and sudden illness and respond to urgent, special and planned patient transfer requests.
- Use advanced driving skills under blue light and normal traffic conditions to respond to emergency and routine calls as required.
- Delivery of high quality and effective clinical and personal care and the transportation of patients, selecting and applying appropriate equipment and skills in line with the scope of practice and associated training.
- Working as a crew or solo, you will initiate appropriate care and effective treatment to patients in both hospital and pre-hospital environment, selecting and applying appropriate skills and equipment safely and within appropriate level of training, competency and scope of practice.
- You will already hold your fullC1 category on your driving licenceand you will need to provide evidence that you have completed anationally recognised emergency driving qualification allowing you to drive under blue light conditions in a C1 size vehicle.

Our Recruitment Process:
