Job summary

The Senior Analyst based within the Performance Management and Information Team is accountable for the development, creation and timely delivery of management information reports for use across the Trust including operational divisions. The analyst will be working on the implementation of the new MIS Pathways module for the reporting function within the PMIT team

The post holder must be advanced in the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of information, contributing to the provision of timely and quality information to ensure support the delivery of cost-effective and dynamic services across the Trust.

The post holder will be required to work autonomously in the creation of both standard, regular analytical reports, develop new reports and respond to ad hoc requests as and when required.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide statistical insight about service improvements including robust analysis of demand, activity, efficiencies and performance;

  • To use appropriate analysis techniques to identify possible operational changes to improvement the service

  • To interrogate complex data sets in order to identify trends, exceptions, problems, good practice and areas of concern for all levels of management;

  • To interpret and present a range of complex information in a creative, interesting and stimulating way to engage colleagues, committees and Trust Board - including making information accessible to the public.

  • To provide statistical analysis, commentary and profiles of trends within reports, highlighting variances from the norm, correlations, and statistically significant changes. To share findings / analysis with other team members, Trust managers and others, to support decision making and performance improvement.

  • Represent the Trust as analytics lead for wider health system and partnership meetings.

  • To lead on the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and other information to support service improvement at corporate, divisional and individual level.

About us

  • Act as the Trust information/analytical representative for internal, project and partnership meeting as required.

  • Responsibility for the delivery of specific regular and ad hoc reports to senior management from SQL and SharePoint. This analysis will include information to support business planning, operational and performance management, as well as support to specific service improvement development within the Trust.
