Job summary
The People Directorate has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Director in Education and Organisational Development. This is a pivotal role within the organisation and the Assistant Director will strategically lead clinical education, organisational learning, organisational development and act as a subject matter expert at the Trust, forming part of the senior leadership team and working collaboratively with the Deputy Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development. Working with the Head of Education, Deputy Head of Education and wider Directorate Team the Assistant Director will ensure that the Trust meets key milestone in areas including but not limited to the organisational workforce plan, statutory mandatory education, higher education development, organisational apprenticeships, leadership, cultural development and broader organisational development initiatives. EMAS are therefore actively looking for an experienced and proactive candidate to join our 'emazing' People Directorate team.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be experienced in engaging and working with key internal and external stakeholders including Universities, Health Education England and awarding organisations. Additionally they will lead on aspects of the Directorate Strategy to ensure that education and organisational development is promoted and developed at the Trust, proposing and leading on key workstreams including widening participation, educational transformation (including technology), talent management, promotion of career pathways and contributing to new model of care, from and education and OD perspective. On this basis candidates must have demonstrable evidence of working at a senior level within clinical education, organisational learning and/or organisational development. Additionally, they should hold a Level 7 post graduate qualification relevant to one of these areas and meet all the essential criteria for the role.
About us
The successful candidate will actively contribute to robust governance across the portfolio of the post and lead, monitor and engage a specific governance group with a focus on workforce planning and education. They will also contribute to wider strategic priorities, providing expert advice and support. There will also be a requirement to consider national and regional initiatives, best practice and implement feedback from all stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure continual improvement.
Hybrid working is available, and the successful candidate will be able to flexibly work at home and also across our three education centres and main bases within the East Midlands to carry out the role.
