Job summary

Job Purpose:

  1. The post-holder will be providing assistance for all areas of the SQL Server estate including ongoing improvement of the existing databases, identifying processing bottlenecks and implementing performance tuning where appropriate, migration from unsupported to supported platforms.
  2. You will also be required to assist in the design and development of replacement databases, promoting a data integration and data warehousing/data lake approach to the Trust's key reporting systems, utilizing industry standard technologies and methodologies.
  3. The role will also require the assistance in creation of SQL databases, SQL coded procedures, DTS and SSIS packages, reporting services and analysis service to provide reporting functionality.

Main duties of the job

Ensuring SQL Server instances are performing, secure, actively managed and monitored. Assist in PowerBI and data cubes. Support wider team members with technical expertise in coding and data location.

To assist the formulation and implementation of policies internal to the department, relating to the support and maintenance of SQL / Azure / Power Bi database and applications.

To assist in all configurations issues relating to SQL / Azure / Power Bi and database options including access, logging, collation, paging and indexing.

This is an apprenticeship and the successful candidate will be provided with level 4 Data Analyst training and are expected to complete course .

There is a requirement to use a personal computer more or less continuously on most days. Travel around the Trust (East Midlands) may be required occasionally.
