Post Title: Ward Manager
Grade: Equivalent to Band 7
Hours: 40 plus break, on occasion additional hours may be required to undertake the role well. Under Labour Law, the hours must not exceed 48. Flexibility will be required and it is expected that some evening, weekend or night shifts may be required from the postholder.

Reports To: CAG Service Manager
Accountable to: Chief Nurse
Please note that a Bachelors Degree in Nursing is a mandatory requirement for this role in order to obtain a license to practice in the UAE.
Main duties of the job
The Ward Manager has overall responsibility for the safe and effective delivery of care within the ward, in line with organisational policies, local regulations, and international best practice.
The post-holder will:
Lead, support, and develop the nursing team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
Oversee clinical standards, operational management, and effective use of resources.
Promote a culture of safety, patient-centred care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Uphold the reputation of Maudsley Health, MACANI, and South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust through professional leadership and exemplary practice.

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) is working with MACANI, a highly respected Abu Dhabi based organisation with a mission to develop and extend high quality mental health care across the United Arab Emirates. Maudsley Health is now progressing significant developments across the spectrum of mental health care in the Middle East. The aim is to replicate the high quality of the specialist services within SLaM. As a result, we are looking for additional experienced, high-quality nursing staff. A thorough induction programme will be offered along with a commitment to continuing professional development. Supervision is provided either through Maudsley Health in the UAE or through SLaM in London.
