Job summary
We are a newly formed team of clinicians who are excited to have peer support workers co-producing the design, delivery and evaluation of the Trauma Informed Team strategy and programme implementation.
The role will cover all acute inpatient services across South London and the Maudsley. Some direct experiences with service users, staff and stakeholders will be important for this role.
This project will work very closely with the Quality Improvement Team to further develop trauma informed care, thinking and practice across the Trust.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work directly with staff, patients and carers/families to implement trauma informed care on the adult inpatient wards. This will involve supporting research and audit projects alongside direct interventions and support for staff and patients. They will contribute to an open and safe working environment and culture of trauma informed care.
The PSWs will be motivated and enthusiastic about trauma informed care. Their training and lived experience will be invaluable to the project and welcomed across all aspects of the project. Good communication skills will be necessary and the ability to maintain good working relationships.
About us
Our Trauma Informed Care Team is based the Maudsley Hospital in the incredibly vibrant Camberwell. The team consists of a Consultant Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Nurse and two Assistant Psychologists.
Our Trust headquarters is located in the Maudsley Hospital at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station and is within walking distance from the beautiful green spaces of Ruskin park and the vibrant high-street.
Bethlem Royal Hospital is based in a beautiful setting in over 200 acres of green space in the London Borough of Bromley. The hospital has easy access to nearby main roads and offers free parking. The site is within walking distance from of Eden Park and West Wickham stations.
Lambeth Hospital is based in south London, zone 2 and is close to a vibrant high street. It is within walking distance of Brixton (overland and tube stations), Clapham North tube station, Clapham High Street rail station and Wandsworth Road overland station, offering easy transport links to other parts of London.
Lewisham Hospital is based in South East London, zone 3 and is close to the beautiful green open spaces of Ladywell fields park and Lewisham park. It is within walking distance to the vibrant high-street and located within walking distance from Ladywell, Hither Green, Catford and Crofton Park overland stations. The site does offer parking and is not located within the congestion charge zone.
