The boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark have high social and psychological needs with considerable cultural diversity. The postholder will work to engage with the local service user and carers in their local communities to ensure as wide a range of involvement as possible.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead on patient and public involvement within adult services in two Operations Directorates. They will develop effective service user and carer involvement in the work of the Directorates, enact the Trust Involvement and Engagement strategy and develop and implement Directorate strategies that foster service user and carer involvement and engagement. This will be supported through:

1. Leading on the development of effective action plans to meet relevant CQUINs targets, NHSE requirements and local contracts and Quality and Information requirements

2. Working with operational Deputy Directors, Medical Leads, Heads of Nursing and Quality and Professional Heads to support embedding of engagement of people who use our services as part of business as usual

3. Working in conjunction with the Equality and Diversity lead to deliver the Directorates' Equality Delivery Scheme action plan and to deputise as needed

4. Developing cross cutting involvement opportunities with Kings Health Partners (KHP) acute care colleagues

5. Leading on maintaining good quality communication and engagement with all relevant stakeholders/ partners across geographical areas served by the Directorates.

6. Leading on communication and information provision.

7. Providing Directorate input to local mental health partnership forums, Local Authority Overview and Scrutiny and Healthwatch as required.
