Job summary
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, substantive Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Low Intensity Psychiatric service (LIST) in the London Borough of Lewisham. This is currently being advertised as a 7 PA substantive role.
If you are looking for a clinical role within an established community mental health team, with opportunities to work closely with Primary care partners and lead on further service development and incorporating quality improvement methodology to evaluate changes, then this is the ideal post for you.

Main duties of the job
The main duty of the post holder is to carry out regular medical reviews for the patients on the case load. Usually, you would be expected to see your patients once every 12 months. However, if patients are getting unwell or there are other concerns raised by the MDT or family, then we would expect the post holder to consider seeing the patient sooner.
You will be responsible for the day to day management of patients in the team. Medical reviews should include detailed reviews of patient's physical health, medication , alcohol and drug use and their overall levels of functioning. Also, a review of their risk assessment and care plan.

- Approved clinician status and under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment

- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice

- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification

- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
- Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification (in accordance with Royal College of Psychiatrists guidelines)
- Experience in relevant specialties such as in patient, old age psychiatry, liaison psychiatry, home treatment or addictions
