Job summary

Bexley Community Drug and Alcohol Service (Pier Road Project) are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, caring, and creative nurses from any discipline to come and join us. You will be working within an exciting and fast paced environment that provides high quality addictions and recovery care to a diverse service user group. The service is a partnership between NHS and voluntary services, and we work as a single service to get the highest quality of outcomes for residents over the age of 18 in Bexley.

We are looking to recruit a Band 5 or experienced Band 6 nurse of any discipline to be core members of the multi-disciplinary team, participating in the provision of on-going assessments, care planning, treatment, and support of people with drug and alcohol issues to promote health, independence, and recovery.

Main duties of the job

To lead the clinical management of a care package to individuals who use our services, as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.

To co-ordinate and monitor the delivery of person-centred healthcare to a designated group of people who use our services, using complex clinical decision making where appropriate and responding to changes in presentation/ situation appropriately. To promote shared decision making with service user/relatives/carers, as appropriate, in terms of involvement in all aspects of their care.

To deliver individual and group therapy utilising CBT skills.

To ensure provision of the necessary physical care to help people who use our services i.e.: alcohol assessments, BBV interventions, pabrinex, medication administration physical observations.

SLaM employ around 5000 staff and serve a local population of 1.1 million people. We have more than 230 services including inpatient wards, outpatient, and community services. Currently, provide inpatient care for approximately 5,300 people each year and treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark; as well as substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Lambeth, Richmond and Wandsworth
