About us

SLaM recently has undergone reconfiguration around the operational management of services back to Borough based, localised services for adult mental health and older adults' liaison psychiatry services. The Lambeth Community Forensic Team is managed within the Croydon borough directorate, along with all other SLAM forensic services. Whilst these services are financially managed within local Boroughs, the CAGs remain in place in this new reconfiguration as part of a new central Quality Centre, leading to design care pathways in line with the evidence base.

The Forensic department includes:

  • Four male medium secure wards at River House, Bethlem Royal Hospital.
  • One female medium secure ward, currently at Bridge House, Lambeth Hospital.
  • One male personality disorder medium secure ward at River House
  • One low secure ward: Chaffinch, Bethlem Royal Hospital
  • Ward in the Community (locked, non-secure ward) Lambeth Hospital
  • Four community mental health teams (one for each SLAM borough)
  • Criminal justice liaison team.
