Job summary

Corporate Psychology and Psychotherapy are recruiting to one Assistant Psychologist post, which aims to offer valuable career development experience. The experience offered by the post is suitable for candidates who aspire to future training in clinical psychology and other psychological therapy professions.

About us

The post holder will be based within Corporate Psychology and Psychotherapy. This team has oversight of projects relating to the psychological workforce and staff support and wellbeing.

The Staff Support Team provides responsive support to teams following a critical incident and oversees the provision of reflective spaces across the Trust. The service works to the Trust's quality priorities in relation to increasing staff satisfaction, improving workplace wellbeing, trauma-informed care and violence reduction.

Psychological Workforce projects focus on career development, increasing diversity and continued professional development of our psychology and psychotherapy workforce across the career span (pre-qualified and qualified).

Job responsibilities

Depending on the allocated project, the post holder may be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and screening referrals for staff support initiatives (e.g., Critical Incident Staff Support).
  • With support and under supervision, assessing and triaging incident and support requests which come into the service
  • Liaising with a variety of different staff members across the organisation from frontline clinicians, non-clinical staff to the board of directors.
  • Organising and coordinating staff support initiatives (e.g., Schwartz Rounds, Reflect-Support-Resolve (Reflective Practice), training for team leaders and delivering team support plans to support staff members).
  • Organising and coordinating professional developmen and supervision for community of practice members.
  • Organising and contributing to wellbeing initiatives across the Trust, including roadshows across different sites within the Trust.
  • Collecting and analysing data (quantitative and qualitative) for the purpose of evaluating the diverse range of staff support initiatives with the possibility of leading to publication.
  • Conducting literature reviews and horizon scanning of new initiatives, theories and the evidence base relevant to wellbeing in the workplace and staff support.
  • Where appropriate and with adequate training, the post holder will be able to be directly involved in the delivery of staff support initiatives (e.g., co-facilitating Critical Incident Staff Support sessions).
  • Supporting and co-delivering training across the organisation to support the delivery of staff support initiatives (e.g. training and recruitment of new facilitators to our community of practice for our key initiatives)
  • Contributing towards service and quality improvement work within the team, department and organisation.
