Job summary
The post holder will be a care coordinator, assessing and treating children and young people in the team working in collaboration with the multiple disciplinary teams (MDT). The post holder will work with some children and young people with Neurodevelopmental Conditions such as ASD and ADHD with co-morbid mental health difficulties. The post holder will also be involved in supporting and advising parents and carers of C&YP referred to the service as well as offering consultation and advice to their professional networks. The post holder may be expected to offer supervision to junior colleagues.
Main duties of the job
Participate as a multi-disciplinary team member in the assessment and treatment of children and young people referred to CAMHS.
Ensure that all recording and reporting of client contact are accurate, up to date, of good quality and within CAMHS and professional requirement standards of record keeping. To collect & collate information about individual clinical activity on ePJS
Work with the team and clients to maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
To link with other statutory and voluntary agencies and professionals as well as other CAMHS Teams in terms of referrals and joint work. Maintain good relationships and clear lines of communication with other professional agencies and departments, providing specialist advice and support where appropriate
You will work with other CAMHS colleagues in the service from all disciplines. You will be a member of a number of internal and external professional networks to ensure that care plans for individual children are co-ordinated efficiently across agencies. This post is a clinical post and the expectation of time management is the majority of time is spent in actual clinical practice.

- All applicants will require a professional training and relevant CAMHS experience in combination with professional registration with one of the following statutory bodies: the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) , Health Professional's Council (HPC/ HCPC), Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) or The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) .
- First level nursing qualification/registration RMN or RSCN or HV or Doctorate level qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology or First level qualification in OT, social work, or equivalent or First level qualification in art, play, drama or music therapy with related experience in the psychological aspects of caring for children and adolescent with mental health problems/needs, developmental/ learning disability problems.
- Good verbal communication, written and report writing skills. Effective self / time management.
