Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social worker. We are looking for a Senior Hoarding Practitionerto work closely with the CMHT, Southwark social services and primary care on a permanent full time post.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will hold a caseload of clients with hoarding disorder, conducting specialist hoarding assessments and deliverindividualised cognitive behavioural therapy for hoarding disorder. Working with clients over video link or during home visits, they will support theclient in understanding what causes and maintains hoarding, and work with them to manage the urge to acquire and enable them to effectively declutter. They will also work with families to help them support the client around hoarding behaviours.

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Sound clinical and risk management skills, a compassionate and supporting attitude, ability to tolerate sometimes challenging home environments without making the client feel judged, and ability to liaise effectively with social care, housing and London Fire Brigade colleagues. The post holder will require excellent engagement skills and experience of providing trauma informed care
  • Experience of research based/reflective practice, e.g., understanding and ability to use supervision to reflect on skills, attitude and knowledge and develop these by using evidence based practice.
  • Significant relevant clinical experience. Evidence of continuing professional development. Experience as a preceptor / mentor.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and audit. Knowledge of relevant Professional and Clinical legislation.

  • oExperience of Hoarding work
  • oExperience of managing a caseload.
  • oExperience of supporting practice development in clinical areas.
