CAMHS Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) Lead - Gender Identity

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Southern Hub as our PPI lead and be involved in this new clinical pathway.

A new clinical pathway has been developed, based on the recommendations of The Cass Review Interim Report (Interim report - Cass Review), the NHS England interim service specification (NHS England - Interim service specification for specialist gender incongruence services for children and young people), and the expertise of many clinicians from across the Northern and Southern Hubs. The service will be delivered by a wide multi-disciplinary team including paediatricians, mental health practitioners, youth workers, nurses, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists. Who patients see will be dependent on the support and care they need.

It is expected that the NHS Children and Young People's Gender Service will continue to change and evolve as more learning, research and evidence is developed in this area. In addition, it is expected that more hubs will go live across the country, and clinicians will work together in a National MDT for complex cases and sharing learning.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead on Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) for the NHS Children and Young People's Gender Service - The Southern Hub. The post holder will work closely with the CAMHS PPI lead and participation leads at GOSH and Evelina London. This will be supported through:

  5. Leading good quality communication and engagement with all relevant stakeholders/partners across The Southern Hub geographical area
  6. Facilitating patient facing communication in conjunction with GOSH communications team and information provision with partner organisations, to ensure it is accurate, timely and accessible
  7. Championing service user, parent and carer voice in Gender Service management meetings, senior leadership meetings, partnership forums etc
