Job summary

As an inpatient mental health ward, we provide assessment, treatment and intensive nursing care for service users who live in the London Borough of Southwark. The South London and Maudsley (SLAM) NHS Trust works closely with other services both inside and outside of SLAM to ensure the best care outcome is achieved for every service user.

In this role, you will be part of an administrative team responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the multi-professional team.

Main duties of the job

1) Provide comprehensive administrative support to the multi-professional team with regards to the processing of clinical documentation, managing queries and data entry.

2) To deliver a high standard of customer care representative of the service and the overall Trust's objectives.

3) Support the collection and updating of specific service-related information and activity to ensure required Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are input in a timely fashion onto required systems.

4) Assist with non-clinical processes which need to be undertaken in order to support clinical teams and the overall service deliver quality patient care.

5) Support the maintenance of the service environment. Ensuring appropriate use of resources within the set budget guidelines and in conjunction with other members of the administration team, to be responsible for maintenance and repair of equipment. Support the team with regards to roles related to First Aid, Fire Warden, Health and Safety.

6) Assist with the induction of new / temporary staff.

7) To work in a flexible and open manner in line with the needs of the service.

8) To participate in any training and developmental needs as required by the Business Manager / Team Manager.

9) Support with housekeeping duties including linen checks, ordering dry goods, logging maintenance issues and completing monthly environmental checks.

10) To ensure that patient information is kept up to date
