Job summary

We would like to invite applications for the exciting opportunity of Community Nurse for the Enhanced Treatment Team based at the Eating Disorders Outpatients Department (EDOPD), Maudsley Hospital.

The main objective of the ETT for eating disorders is to addressing inequality of access for adults with eating disorders; early detection and ability to closely monitor some of most unwell services users. It fulfils the service's ambition to develop a comprehensive community provision, to ensure a provision that builds on, and extends the Outpatients model.

The Eating Disorders Team is internationally renowned for providing best practice, evidence-based care for adults with the full range of eating disorder difficulties. Outpatient treatments include guided self-help, group and individual interventions.

Main duties of the job

As a Community Nurse working in a community setting you will promote and deliver evidence-based care for service users with mental health conditions in their own homes and within a variety of accommodation settings.

Community roles vary and the specifics of the community setting in which you work are covered during induction and will be explained by your line manager and colleagues;this addendum sets out the expectations of all Band 6 staff working in a community setting, and should be read alongside the detail of the requirements for a Band 6 set out in the generic Job Description
