Job summary

To take day to day operational management responsibility in the planning, directing and management of the Tier 2 service. (Spring Team)

The post holder will ensure that service access and delivery is efficient, effective, evidence based, needs led, as well as service user and carer focused.

The post holder will provide clear leadership, in partnership with the Service Manager to ensure access to timely treatment and intervention by well led and motivated staff that contributes to promoting safety and achievement for all children and young people.

Main duties of the job

Operational: covers the management of the team, including clear lines of reporting and how they function in line with mental health governance, the process for escalating any problems or issues

Quality assurance

Strategic: monitoring key outcomes and implementing regular evaluations to allow for continued learning, innovation and improvement.

Responsible for submitting relevant data requirements as requested for local performance and management meetings and other as agreed.

Undertake and support service evaluation, audit, research and policy development.

Work with stakeholders: local commissioners (CCG), GP practices, community settings, CAMHS, local mental health & well-being services.

Work in collaboration with stakeholders, partners and communities towards systemic change that supports advancing mental health equality and narrowing health inequalities and disadvantage.

Attend regular regional and national meetings as required.

About us

Lambeth Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) provides multidisciplinary assessment, diagnostic, treatment, advisory and consultative service for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioural disorders, in particular those at high risk or those with more severe and persistent problems associated with psychiatric disorder.

Spring Team (Early Help CAMHS): Aims to deliver early specialist help (equivalent of Tier 2+ CAMHS) for children and young people up to the age of 18. The team manage first presentations of common mental health difficulties, such as depression, anxiety and behavioural concerns. There is also growing expertise in early presentations of trauma-related mental illness, OCD and self-harm. There is also an adolescent primary care clinic to which this team contributes with high quality mental health expertise.
