Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for two new staff members to contribute to the provision for delivery of family interventions and carer support within LEO, as well as communicating and advocating for family and carer perspectives in the work of the team more broadly. The successful candidates will work alongside staff from a range of professional backgrounds in supporting clients towards recovery and well-being.
Main duties of the job
The post-holders will meet with a caseload of families for Family Intervention in Psychosis (FIp), as well as providing courses of individual carer support and contributing to carer support groups, and managing referral and waiting list processes relating to these interventions. As specialists in this work, the post-holders will also ensure that family and carer perspectives are a visible and influential part of the team's thinking, and they will support other staff members to consider systemic or contextual aspects of distress, impairment, and recovery.

LEO is a specialist multidisciplinary community mental health team who work with adults aged 18-65 experiencing a first episode of psychosis. We work assertively and intensively with service users and carers for up to two years, to promote engagement with the team and to deliver a range of interventions aimed at facilitating social inclusion and recovery.

- One of the following: o(Nurse Advanced) Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, experience, short courses plus further specialist training to master's equivalent level. (A) o(Social Worker Specialist) Professional knowledge acquired through degree/diploma in social care, supplemented by further specialist knowledge, for example in needs of a specific client group, experience to Masters equivalent level. (A) o(Occupational Therapist Advanced) Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by further training, short specialist courses, to master's equivalent level. (A) o(Psychologist) Doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology or equivalent and Registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist. (A) o(Family Therapist) Masters level qualification in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy or equivalent qualification, recognised by DOH and AFT, and Registered with the UKCP as Systemic Psychotherapist.
