Job summary

Clinical service lead- Southwark CAMHS Adolescent team

We are looking for a team leader/highly specialist clinician with excellent clinical skills and an ability to engage young people with mental health difficulties. Applicants will need to have experience of working with service users with severe mental health difficulties, leadership skills that will support the operational management of the Adolescent service, and a style of working that supports all team members to give of their best and achieve the best possible outcomes for young people and their carers.

The Clinical Service Lead provides management and supervisory leadership to the Southwark CAMHS Adolescent service. Adolescent team offers service to young people between the ages of 12 to 18 years old, who have significant emotional or mental health difficulties.Treatment with the team ranges from short to long term, and may involve face to face sessions, and indirect work with the parent, carer or professional from another agency.

Adolescent team is multi-disciplinary with psychiatry, psychology, social work, and recognised therapy professionals. The post-holder will work with the senior team to develop the service, ensure timely, accessible, high quality assessment, interventions, and discharge planning of YP referred to the service. The post-holder is an important member of the Southwark CAMHS local leadership and will have the opportunity to influence strategy with leads from other teams and disciplines.

Main duties of the job

To take day-to-day operational management responsibility in the planning, directing and management of the Southwark CAMHS- Adolescent service.

The post holder will ensure that service access and delivery is efficient, effective, evidence based, needs led, as well as service user and carer focused. The post holder will carry a caseload.

The post holder will provide clear leadership, in partnership with the Service Manager to ensure access to timely treatment and intervention by well-led and motivated staff that contributes to promoting safety and achievement for all children and young people.

Essential

  • oRecognised Professional Qualification in Social Work (DipSW/CQSW), Mental Health Nursing (RMN), Psychology or any allied medical profession.
  • oEducated to Masters level or related experience.
  • oEvidence of continuing professional development.
