We are inviting applications from enthusiastic clinical psychologists for two Band 8A posts in our multi-disciplinary ARFID Team, part of our eating disorders service for children and young people. We are a friendly, welcoming, innovative, national and specialist ARFID Team working with young people (2 - 17 years) and their families. Our multi-disciplinary team includes Clinical Psychology, Nursing, Dietetic, Psychiatry, and Paediatric posts, supported by a friendly Admin Team.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service including assessment, treatment, monitoring of outcomes and the provision of clinical supervision, consultation and training. The post holder will also contribute to service evaluation, research and policy development. There are many opportunities available within the service in relation to continued professional development.
Key responsibilities:
- To provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to the MCCAED ARFID team including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
- To take a lead role in developing care pathways for CYP with ARFID with particular emphasis on developing practice related to psychological interventions for ARFID.
- To provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate, functioning as a lead specialist in ARFID in children and young people.
- To undertake service evaluation, audit and research.

About us
The multi-disciplinary ARFID team is one of the three MCCAED services. We serve our local South London boroughs (Lewisham, Southwark, Lambeth, Greenwich, Bexley, and Bromley) as well as seeing some nationally referred young people. The other two MCCAED services are the outpatient team, primarily seeing young people with anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, and the Intensive Treatment Programme for young people with restrictive eating disorders.
MCCAED has a strong commitment to developing innovative treatment through systematic research, its work being well known both nationally and internationally. The team provides specialist training opportunities for a range of professionals of all disciplines and offers training to colleagues nationally and internationally.
