This is an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking and clinically focused individual to provide daily operational leadership for the clinical staff within the 3 borough adult ADHD and ASD Outpatient clinic and be clinical nurse lead for the ASD/ADHD services, providing strategic leadership and development.
The postholder will work with clinicians and local commissioning leads to develop and deliver a local clinical pathway for adults with ADHD and/or ASD.
We wish to hear from individuals who possess strong clinical and operational leadership, sound interpersonal skills and the ability to progress service improvement for our patients.
Applicants must demonstrate an ability to work in partnership to provide a seamless service across each borough. In addition, you must be willing to go the extra mile to support the care pathway in delivering the best possible service to our users and their carers.
The clinics have strong links with research, including the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at Kings College London.
Main duties of the job
The Croydon, Lambeth and Lewisham Adult ADHD and Autism Service (also known as the three borough service) is a local service which can be accessed by any patient registered with a Croydon, Lambeth or Lewisham General Practitioner (G.P). The service is provided by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and offers:
- Diagnostic assessment for people suspected of having ADHD and/or and autism.
- Initiation and titration of ADHD medication, and ADHD medication reviews.
- Post diagnostic psychological intervention following a positive diagnostic assessment of ADHD and/or Autism within the three borough service.
- Case consultation for teams working with people with ADHD and/or autism
- Education for local G.P's and SLaM community staff.
The multidisciplinary team consists of assessment nurses, senior clinical nurse specialists, consultant psychiatrists, senior clinical psychologists, assistant psychologist and administrators.

The ADHD and ASD service will be run from local primary care and hospital premises within the London boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, and Lewisham. This currently includes Clapham Family Practice and Norbury Health Centre.

Professional leadership and management

- To make links with other services in the Trust as appropriate.
