Job summary

The post holder will provide extensive project management support to a variety of projects. Working with key stakeholders across the Trust, the post holder will be pivotal in delivering projects through effective planning, coordination and execution, whilst ensuring that robust monitoring and evaluation processes are in place, throughout the project lifecycle.

Main duties of the job

The Programme Management Office (PMO) assures delivery of key cost, quality, improvement and transformation projects and programmes across the Trust, through the application of a robust project management delivery model. The PMO manages the pipeline of opportunities for improvement, develops standardised planning documentation, validates plans for approval against best practice and tracks implementation. The PMO provides:

  • Dedicated project management capacity for selected schemes and initiatives that require specialist skills to deliver the required change and/or outcomes.
  • Control over projects through set processes, procedures, and effective communication, thus helping the organization achieve its strategic goals and objectives The benefits of the PMO project delivery model:

  • Systematic tracking and transparency of each project's performance

About us

Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2). We also provide services and operate across other locations, such as London boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. Please note that due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the PMO team are currently working from home. There will be an expectation, once lockdown restrictions are eased, to come into the PMO work base (Maudsley Hospital), as appropriate.

  • Experience of leading service improvement projects in an NHS mental health environment
  • Knowledge and experience of several different project management processes
