About us

Within South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust there are four Early Intervention teams: Lambeth (LEO), Southwark (STEP), Lewisham (LEIS) and Croydon (COAST). Each of the EI teams is a specialist multidisciplinary community mental health team set up under guidelines from the National Service Framework for Mental Health. Each EI team works with people aged 18-65 who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis, and alongside its local OASIS service, for people who meet criteria for being "at-risk" of developing psychosis. The teams work intensively with service users and carers to promote engagement with the team and with treatment, and to facilitate social inclusion and recovery.

We are a team committed to ensuring that our interventions are accessible and acceptable for all members of our local community, including focusing on anti-racist practice and using a range of models and approaches.
