About us

The Cannabis Clinic for Psychosis (CCP) is a newly developed SLAM service that aims to care for young adults suffering from psychosis who use cannabis. Cannabis use is associated with a poor clinical and functional outcome in psychosis and up to 46% of young adults under the care of SLaM for psychosis continues to use cannabis after their illness onset.

The CCP provides, to this clinical population, support to reduce/stop cannabis use integrating one to one psychological sessions with PEER support.

SLaM serves a diverse population of over 1.1 million across the boroughs of Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and Croydon, as well as offering national services for patients who are resistant to treatment. It provides treatment for 9,600 people, of whom 5,600 are on the Care ProgrammeSLaM has an annual budget of 128.5 million (health and social care). A robust Financial Strategy plan has been developed to achieve financial balance over three years, including elimination of agency/bank costs, introduction of non-pay controls and elimination of overspill.

The Cannabis Clinic works in collaboration with the Living Well Network Alliance, which brings together those who use services, those who plan and buy services (commissioners) and those who deliver them (providers) to design, develop and deliver a new model of adult mental health services in Lambeth.
