Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic part time (30 hours per week) Psychodynamic Psychotherapist to join the Older Adult CMHT Psychology and Psychotherapy Service.
The team comprises, Clinical and Counselling Psychologists,Psychodynamic Psychotherapists and Trainees. The team delivers assessment, treatment, and works closely with colleagues in the CMHTs.
Only applicants with UKCP or British Psychoanalytical Council (BPC) registration in individual psychodynamic psychotherapy should apply.

Main duties of the job
To provide assessments and treatment to a caseload of services users with complex presentations. To provide clinical expertise, consultation and liaison work with the Community Mental Health Team(s). Skill and experience in assessing and treating service users from diverse backgrounds within a psychodynamic framework in secondary care is essential. Interest and capacity for close team working, as well as the ability to work autonomously are key.

The Older Adult service is a dedicated service to meet the mental health needs of people aged over 65, which is highly valued by service users and their support networks. This means we work with a range of presentations from depression, anxiety to trauma and psychosis and sometimes these difficulties present in the context of dementia: our work is fascinating and important as we work with a vulnerable and interesting client group. We are a multi-disciplinary service: our CMHTs work to provide ongoing support to people living at home whilst our HTTs provide short term input to support people in crisis.

The postholder will work across boroughs, seeing patients from Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark CMHT for Older Adults.
