This exciting Band 8a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychology full time post sits within the multi-disciplinary Neuropsychiatry team, which provides specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health services for young people with neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism spectrum disorder, and associated mental health and developmental conditions. Main duties of the job
The post has a balanced combination of multi-disciplinary assessment work (social communication assessment, cognitive and neuropsychological testing, young person and parent interviews) and intervention cases. Intervention is varied, ranging from direct work with young people with a range of presentations and needs, work with their parents or carers and joint work with other disciplines such as consultations to the local network. Given the complex nature of young people seen in our service, time is made for complex formulation meetings, cased discussions and regular treating team review meetings.
As a specialist CAMHS service, keyworker duties including overseeing good clinical governance (ensuring timely outcome measurement and clinical record keeping) and being a key point of contact for young people, families and local services. There are many opportunities for leadership experience, including supervision of more junior staff, service development projects and holding responsibility for some key clinical governance tasks.

About us
Service for Complex Autism and Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorders (SCAAND)
SCAAND is a busy multi-disciplinary service, majority funded by NHS England. The service provides comprehensive assessment and evidence-based interventions to young people up to 18 years with complex neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric difficulties, particularly ASD and associated disorders. SCAAND consists of three outpatient- and one outreach-stream that specialise in different presentations and that work closely together.
Our MDT includes Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, OTs, SLTs, Educational Psychology and Nurses. The Neuropsychiatry stream focuses on supporting young people with Autism but without an Intellectual Disability.

- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent; Counselling psychologist
- Completed training course in clinical supervision
- Registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist, and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC
