About the team:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the secondary mental health Psychology and Psychotherapy service for older adults as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist. The post holder will be based alongside the community mental health team for older adults and will have a varied role. The service offers CBT, psychodynamic and systemic therapy as well as undertaking neuropsychological assessments and working with behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.
The post is a split post with 0.5 sessions based at Heavers Resource Centre in Croydon and 0.5 sessions based at Lambeth Hospital.

About the role:
The post holder will offer psychological interventions to older adults and their families, consultancy and also contributing to teaching of trainees and research.
The service offers CBT, psychodynamic and systemic therapy as well as undertaking neuropsychological assessments and working with behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.
We are looking for an enthusiastic psychologist with an interest in and experience of working with older adults who are aware of the importance of close working relationships with MDT colleagues. We are looking for a psychologist that can offer a dynamic and creative approach to service delivery.

- Entry-level qualification in Applied Psychology (Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent) that has been accepted by the HCPC for purposes of professional registration (or expect to complete training within the next 3 months).
- Registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist, and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC.
Experience
Essential
- Experience of receiving clinical supervision across a range of client needs.
- Experience of psychological assessment and treatment of clients including older adults with a range of psychological needs of a complex nature.
- Experience that supports working with, and addressing issues of, diversity within local communities. This may have been gained through work, research, volunteering and / or lived experience.
- Experience of developing and carrying out research, audit or service evaluation projects.
Knowledge
