Job summary
The role will be responsible for a neurodiversity pathway within Southwark Early Help CAMHS. This works with Southwark children up to the age of 18 with diagnosed ASC, ADHD or Learning Disability, who are also experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The role will involve close working with other CAMHS teams around referral thresholds, providing teaching and consultation to CAMHS and other agencies, supervisor junior clinicians, delivering waiting list initiatives, and providing assessment and treatment for this population. The role will also lead on the CAMHS' interface with SEN services. This will include supporting the SEN panel with CAMHS' expertise on mental health needs, and being a point of contact for SENCOs and the Children with Complex Needs care service.
Main duties of the job
You will work with the Team Manager in maintaining close relationships and partnership working with our Local Authority colleagues, and be part of operational decision making. You will provide clinical supervision to members of the team. You will be responsible for your own clinical caseload and you will be involved in assessments, care planning and offering interventions for children and adolescents with support from the multi-disciplinary team. There are opportunities for joint working with a range of professionals within the team and across the service, for delivering teaching and for contributing to group work.
