Job summary
We are pleased to announce that an opportunity has arisen for an experienced RMN Band 6 and above, to lead our Multi-Disciplinary Team on Nelson Ward.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated nurse who is; committed, caring, compassionate, have good leadership and problem solving skills, excellent communication skills, the ability to work as part of the multi-disciplinary team and a positive attitude to service developments and quality improvement.
Nelson Ward is an 18-bedded female only acute ward based at Lambeth Hospital. The ward is spacious and well laid out to promote patient safety and positive interactions between staff and patients.
The multi-disciplinary team is dynamic and diverse, including RMNs, CSWs, an OT, doctors and an experienced consultant who work closely to support patients on their recovery journey. Patients also have access to a psychology and art therapy while on the ward.
Main duties of the job
- To lead and effectively manage the ward nursing team.
- To effectively and efficiently manage ward budget and resources.
- To ensure a comprehensive assessment is completed for the patients for their pathway.
- To ensure that each patient has an individual care plan and risk assessment, which takes into account the patient (if appropriate) and their carers views, with regular reviews
- To ensure safe staffing levels are provided as required
- Practice within the defined parameters under the Mental Health Act 1983/2007.
- Provide a highly specialised range of clinical interventions and knowledge of evidence based models of practice relevant to the patients / residents needs

Nelson Ward is located at 108 Landor Road, Lambeth Hospital, SW9 9NU, closed to Clapham North Underground Station.
We also provide services and operate across other locations, such as London boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark; and substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Lambeth, Greenwich and Wandsworth.
