Job summary

Lambeth's MBT team is looking for a highly specialist MBT practitioner to take a therapy lead and coordination role. MBT has an extensive history in Lambeth and under the guidance of SLaM's MBT Trust lead the service is developing to provide fully adherent MBT, including outreach to other services. We need an energetic, organised experienced MBT Practitioner or registered MBT supervisor to take us to the next level. The team consists of three MBT therapists in training, and a part time psychiatrist.

You will be part of a Trust-wide peer group of MBT team leads who meet monthly and will join the 6 weekly, Trust-wide MBT Special Interest Group made up of MBT practitioners from around the Trust.

You will be part of Lambeth's Secondary Care Psychological Therapies (SCPT) pathway and also working closely with our local CMHT, the Short Term and Focused Support Teams in our three localities. This will include training and liaison work. Within SCPT, you will be working with a wide range of psychological therapists at different stages in their career. You will receive clinical supervision from the Trust's MBT Lead and professional supervision from one of the two co-leads of Lambeth SCPT.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a highly specialised Mentalization Based Therapy(MBT)service toindividuals and groups of people with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder. Thisincludes specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
  • To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
  • To provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate, functioning as a lead specialist in MBT.
  • To undertake service evaluation, audit and research.
  • To work as an autonomous professional withinHCPC/BPC/UKCP/BACPguidelinesand codes ofconduct andguided by principles and policies or procedures of the service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.
  • To agree outcomes/results with clinical/professional lead and to decide how they are best achieved.
