This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/Cognitive Behaviour Therapist to work within a compassionate team offering treatment within a residential setting.
The Anxiety Disorders Residential Unit (ADRU) is a residential psychological therapy unit which specialises in assessing and treating people with anxiety disorders using CBT. We take great pride in our work and treat local and national patients across a range of severities.
We are looking for someone with significant experience and expertise in treating anxiety using CBT. Prospective candidates should be able to demonstrate an excellent academic track record, specific postgraduate training and experience in CBT, and a very good working knowledge of anxiety disorders and how to treat them. We are looking for colleagues who understand the importance of evidence-based treatments, supervision, research, training and dissemination.

Main duties of the job
- The successful applicant will provide a highly specialist psychology service to clients with anxiety disorders including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation
- They will offer supervision to qualified therapists and trainees.
- The applicant will ensure that systems are in place and working effectively to support service delivery, as well as take a lead on a specific areas of service development.
- The successful applicant will have experience in running groups
- The successful applicant will have experience of teaching and dissemination of evidence-based practice both to colleagues and outside agencies
About us
The Anxiety Disorders Residential Unit remit includes the delivery and dissemination of empirically validated cognitive-behavioural treatments for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Emetophobia and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The residential unit provides a model of best practice in the integration of research, development and clinical treatment. Most of the treatments delivered are considered to be at the cutting edge of developments in the field. The clinic is primarily an NHS treatment service for people with anxiety disorders.
Clinicians working at ADRU also have experience of using Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in treatment
