Job summary
We are looking for a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Keeping Well in South East London team. The post-holder will work within KWSEL providing assessment, support and case management to Health and Social Care staff presenting with mental health difficulties and/or wellbeing needs. There will also be the opportunity for further clinical work including workshops, group interventions and linking in with partner organisations.
Main duties of the job
The Senior PWPs will be responsible for taking the lead in a certain project area (Primary care, CCGs, Social Care, Community Engagement) and developing relationships with senior staff in these areas to learn more about their staff support offers and develop collaborative offers (e.g. webinars, comms promotions etc.). There may be the opportunity to spend some time each week in that area to further develop the collaboration between services.
The post holder will be a qualified PWP, with experience of supervision, as the Senior PWP will be responsible for running end of day debrief sessions and peer supervision groups.

There has been widespread recognition that health and social care staff have been negatively affected by the covid pandemic and that support in addition to that usually offered to staff is required. NHS England are funding a number of initiatives across the country to develop staff support. Their brief has been for wellbeing and resilience hubs to be set up in each area pulling together and enhancing support resources for staff and ensuring staff can navigate the various offers available to find support that works for them. In South East London, this work is being led by the Integrated Care System (ICS), which includes all of the healthcare and social care providers in the area such as the CCGs, Kings College Hospital, Guys and St Thomas', SLaM and Oxleas. Around 100,000 health and social care staff work in SE London.

The service offers access to a Rapid Clinical Assessment in which staff members will be assessed by KWSEL and best options for ongoing support will be discussed. This means ongoing discussion/relations with IAPT, secondary care and Trust-based offers (e.g. EAP, OH, staff support) is needed. The site includes a live chat function where staff can talk directly to an Assistant Psychologist or PWP for advice and signposting to the best options for whatever support they need. There is also a single phone number and email for staff to contact for similar advice.

- Content management (including accessing pre-recorded CMS training)
- Content generation (case studies, news articles, webinars)
- Horizon scanning

- Holds a recognised qualification to work as a psychological wellbeing practitioner (e.g. Post Graduate Diploma in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Interventions, or Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Care Mental Health).
- Training in Risk Assessment and Management.
Desirable
- IAPT PWP supervision training
- Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis.

- Significant experience of working within an IAPT service
- Experience of developing and facilitating step 2 workshops/groups or other training materials
- Experience of conducting telephone based assessments with clients to determine the nature of their psychological difficulties, determine appropriate step of intervention and assess for and manage risk.
- Experience demonstrating a range of post-qualifying experiences in offering and delivering the range of evidence-based IAPT low intensity interventions such as computerised CBT, guided self help and group psycho-education programmes.
- Experience of offering supervision for more junior staff
