Job summary

The mind and body are inseparable, and mental and physical health conditions are often connected. The average life expectancy for someone with a long-term mental health illness is much shorter than for someone without, largely due to physical health factors and conditions. Likewise, many people with long-term physical health conditions suffer from depression or other mental health conditions. Despite this, health services often separate care into physical and mental.

At King's Health Partners (KHP), we are working to overcome these barriers by treating the whole person. We are committed to caring for vulnerable patients with both physical and mental ill health in an integrated manner with better and faster diagnosis and treatment because we know that addressing mental ill health improves physical health outcomes and vice versa.

The vision of the KHP Mind & Body programme is to embed systematic approaches to mind and body care, research and education within business-as-usual system management resulting in more effective and more efficient care for patients. KHP has established a central team to ensure this vision is realised.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join the KHP Mind & Body programme. The post holder will take the lead on designated projects, including development, design and implementation. In many cases, these projects will be developed at a fast pace and will be delivered across multiple partners, in a complex stakeholder environment. The role will require exceptional influencing skills, and the ability to successfully navigate ambiguity and complexity to build consensus across a wider range of stakeholders.

A big focus for the post holder will be leading on the set-up, scaling and continuous development of the new and innovative Mind & Body accreditation scheme. This is a project that aims to outline a framework for good integrated mind and body care and support services and organisations to improve and achieve these standards.
