Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Lambeth CAMHS Rapids (Crisis) Team for a 1 year fixed term contract.
We wish to recruit a Clinical Specialist to take day to day responsibility in being a key member of the Rapids team. The post holder will work alongside a team which consists of a Clinical Service Lead, Clinical Pathway Lead, several clinical specialists/therapists and a vocational worker. Rapids supports young people and families who have severe and complex mental health needs many often in the middle of a mental health crisis. The post holder will ensure that service access and delivery is efficient, effective, evidence based, needs led, as well as service user and carer focused.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to undertake complex mental health assessments for young people presenting in crisis, have high levels of complexity for example contextual risks, complex neurodevelopmental profiles and/or significant mental health needs
The post holder primary focus is to offer fast tracked evidenced based therapeutic treatment, to young people who are designated as the most urgent in the borough, this will necessitate the applicant to have undertaken significant therapeutic training
The post holder will share responsibility for ensuring that CAMHS staff within the teams achieve positive clinical outcomes for children, young people and their families and that these are evidenced by performance indicators such as activity data, targets and quality measures. You will also share responsibility for ensuring that all team members participate in audit, evaluation and research.
The post holder will work with other CAMHS practitioners in the service from all disciplines, and members of a number of internal and external professional networks to ensure that care plans for individual children and services across agencies are co-ordinated efficiently and effectively.
The post holder will be part of a wider team and will be required to offer support for other members of the crisis team especially during crisis situations or when the care coordinator is otherwise indisposed
