CNWL Sexual Health Services are looking for doctor(s) interested in GUM/HIV/ID to work in Mortimer Market Centre, in Central London
MRCP essential and previous experience in HIV/ID/GUM preferred. There are weekly training and education meetings. At MMC the service provides integrated sexual health care as well as HIV and has an active quality improvement and research programme bridging epidemiology and clinical management.
his post offers an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team of clinicians providing high quality care to patients with Sexually transmitted infections/ Sexual health / Blood borne virus (BBV) concerns as part of one of the largest HIV and integrated sexual health services in the country. Starting January and latest February 4th. Successful applicants may be required to rotate to other placements on the rotation after August depending on their experience and post vacancies. These include in patients at T8 UCLH (ID and HIV) and North Middlesex University Hospital (NMUH) HIV services which includes OP and IP experience.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with other members of the ISH and HIV/hepatitis team to ensure delivery of high-quality outpatient care. The postholder may require an honorary contract with University College London Hospital, who provide inpatient HIV care.

About us
CNWL provides HIV/STI services in Camden/Islington/Barnet/Edgeware and Surrey. The posts will be based at Mortimer Market Centre and possibly Archway Clinic if required. There is a possibility of undertaking In-patient HIV at North Middlesex University Hospital depending on service needs and the interests of the successful candidate(s).
The Mortimer Market Centre (MMC) has an annual attendance of around 40,000. The majority of patients are self-referred, while others present via GPs, student health services, community SH clinics, Accident and Emergency and other Hospital departments. A wide range of sexually transmitted infections and related problems are seen. Specific clinics are held for patients with herpes, warts, viral hepatitis and chronic/recurrent genital infections. Contraceptive services are provided within ISH clinics and opportunities exist for developing skills in fitting LARC according to the interest of applicants and needs of the service. Specialist and complex contraception are provided within MMC and other sites in Camden, Islington, Haringey and Surrey

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- To undertake the clinical and administrative duties outlined in the job plan - to be agreed on appointment and reviewed regularly.
- To provide patient-centred, high quality care ensuring that patients are well informed and able to participate in their care.
- To be responsible for maintaining satisfactory patient records. This will include entering of relevant data into electronic patient records.
- To provide regular updates to GPs and other relevant health care professionals.
- Provide relevant sexual health, general health and adherence promotion.
- To work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) including engagement in the weekly MDT meeting to review antiretrovirals & complex clinical or psychosocial questions.
- To support the HIV/hepatitis team in terms of emergency clinic cover, emergency prescriptions and other clinical activities as required.
- To refer patients where appropriate this includes specialty to specialty referrals within UCLH when indicated.
- To treat all patients in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner.
- To maintain confidentiality in accordance with national and local policies.
- To be available for advice as agreed in the job plan and to give medical advice to junior medical staff, nursing colleagues, local pharmacy and general practice teams.
- To take responsibility for designated management tasks as agreed with the local management team.
- Participate in the induction of new members of staff when required.
- Fulfil the requirements for appraisal and revalidation as set out by the General Medical Council.
TEACHING AND TRAINING
- To share in the induction, training and supervision of trainee and other non-consultant doctors in the CS as appropriate.
- To take an active role in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training provided by the Service.
- To participate in teaching clinical staff within the department, across the North Central London sector and within CNWL as required
