We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated qualifiedPsychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join our team at CNWL Talking Therapies Service Westminster. We are a large, well established service based in a diverse borough of London. Our service provides low and high intensity therapies at Step 2 and Step 3, alongside our Step 3 counselling service. We are passionate about the work we do and care provided to service users, and work by the trust values of compassion, respect, empowerment and partnership. Our team is key in the work we do and service provided to the population of Westminster.
We are looking for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who are adaptable, enjoy challenges and diversity and demonstrate an enthusiasm for primary care work. We particularly welcome applicants who speak other languages and who have enthusiasm for and experience of working with diversity.
Main duties of the job
You will provide a range of standardised assessments and interventions to people with mild to moderate common mental health problems in primary care and community settings. This may include facilitating the delivery of Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CCBT); the provision of guided self-help; using books (Bibliotherapy) and signposting service users to appropriate statutory and voluntary sector services according to their needs.
You will work under close clinical supervision and will be provided with appropriate support and training. They will be required to provide individual/group interventions, under close supervision, and/or support to GPs and other health professionals in appropriate activities. The post-holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.
About us
The catchment area of the post is the London borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The main hub for the service is based at St Charles Centre for Health and Wellbeing, W10 6DZ (North hub), and Gertrude Street SW10 0JN (South Hub). You will be required to work across both hubs and in other parts of the borough, e.g. GP surgeries and community settings.
We operate an agile working policy where staff combine remote working and being on-site to deliver face-to-face appointments and other service commitments that require a hub-based presence.

CLINICAL1.1. To accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service. This includes participation in the teams duty and triage rota to screen referrals along with a high intensity therapist and a senior clinician.1.2. To assess and support people with a common mental health problem in the self management of their recovery.1.3. To undertake patient-centred interviews which identify areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery and makes an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.1.4. To make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the departments referral protocols, refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary or step up the persons treatment to high intensitypsychological therapy.1.5. To provide a range of information and support for evidence based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments. This may include guided self-help computerised CBT, information about pharmacological treatments. This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media.1.6. To educate and involve family members and others in treatment where necessary and appropriate.1.7. To adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the overall number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.1.8. To attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.1.9. To complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.1.10. 3. MANAGEMENT, RECRUITMENT AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT3.1. To assist in the design and implementation of service development projects within the service as required.3.2. To attend meetings in which service developments are planned and discussed.3.3. The post holder will be required to attend and contribute, where appropriate and required, to the regular professional meetings of the CNWL Talking Therapies Service and other Departmental meetings.3.4. Build and maintain supportive relationships with primary care counsellors/psychological therapists and other mental health services/ providers3.5. Build and maintain collaborative links with local voluntary sector agencies3.6. Improve awareness within primary care and across other statutory services (health and non-health), regarding the service and other community resources available for people with mental health problems3.7. Ensure that the service is accessible to a range of patients and carers and to facilitate access to the service for people who may be less likely to access services or may be at higher risk of mental health problems3.8. To undertake searches of evidence-based literature and research to assist qualified clinical psychologists in evidence based practice in individual work and work with other team members.5.4.
