Band 5 Community ambulatory service clinic nurse - Hillingdon (Full time)

*Please note this position is Full time 8-4pm and weekend working is required- usually 1 in 4

Main duties of the job

You will need to be an NMC registered nurse who has enthusiasm, energy and a passion for delivering the best nursing care possible. Community experience is not essential but you will need to demonstrate that you have an understanding and awareness of autonomous working in the community setting, with evidence of some transferable skills.

The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings

Job responsibilities

The community ambulatory service facilitates 4 clinics across 3 sites. You do not need to be a car driver but you will need to be able to independently travel to any of the 3 sites.

There are 3 ambulant wound clinics and 1 clinic for IV antibiotics. They are located in Northwood, Long lane, Hillingdon and Hayes.

Competencies required for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Leg ulcer management- dopplers and compression therapy
  • VAC therapy
  • Pressure ulcer care
  • Surgical wound care
  • IV therapy
  • Care of Picc lines
  • Cannulation

CNWL provides a robust preceptorship program that focuses on progression and development of skills which includes regular supervision and a first-class learning experience in all aspects of community nursing.

We have an extensive in-house training program that will equip you with all the theoretical knowledge required to ensure you are a confident, competent practitioner. In addition, our newly recruited clinical nurse facilitator will be available to guide and support all new starters within the service to ensure you feel supported and you have an enhanced learning and development experience.
