Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 (Fixed term) Physiotherapist within the Camden Neurology and Stroke Service. The team provides specialist rehabilitation for patients on the neurology and stroke early supported discharge pathways. Therapy is provided in patients' own homes, outpatients and leisure centers across Camden. The team support and provide therapy input for people with a wide range of neurological conditions and have strong links with local Acute Trusts including UCLH (NHNN) and RFH.

Main duties of the job

You will provide specialist, evidence based neurological physiotherapy to service users, often presenting with highly complex needs, within people's homes, the local community or in an outpatient setting. You will supervise B6 staff within the community physiotherapy team, providing expert leadership and management. To will be working in a large highly efficient multi disciplinary team.

Education & Qualifications

Essential

  • Health and Care Professions Council membership
  • BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent B Physiotherapy qualification
  • Post graduate clinical courses in areas specific to working with patients with neurological conditions
  • Member of special interest group such as ACPIN

Desirable

  • MSc, management course or equivalent level of study

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Substantial experience at Band 6 or above in community, neurological conditions and inpatient rehabilitation
  • Strong concept of case management role
  • Evidence of undertaking projects/audit/research
  • Evidence of working as an autonomous practitioner in a community setting
  • Experience of clinical governance in practice
  • Highly specialist knowledge of high quality rehabilitation for people with complex needs
  • Awareness of developments in NHS and clinical pathway development
  • Demonstrate ability to set up and monitor standards of practice, care pathways and guidelines
  • Experience of manual handling patients with physical disabilities and ability to assess, identify and reduce associated risks
