Job summary

Working with the Community Paediatrics service who help children with developmental problems and disabilities to achieve their full potential.

These are exciting times within Children's Services as we look to transform our services to meet increasing demands across the NHS and this is an opportunity to join our busy, patient-focused administrative team.

Main duties of the job

Responsible in supporting the existing team with the patient journey through the Community Paediatric service from referral to discharge proactively ensuring children and families receive a smooth and timely service from the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focused and knowledgeable point of contact on all pathway administrative matters. The main duties will involve typing, referrals management, scanning and photocopying.

Initially this post will sit in the Community Paediatrics team however, there is currently a transformation project and this post will sit in the Community Health Services Childrens Single Point of Access (SPA) that will sit across all service lines once established.

Essential

  • Good General Education
  • GCSE 'O' Level standard for Maths and English or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Audio typing
  • Flexible and able to manage a range of tasks competing for attention
  • Previous office experience

Desirable

  • Use of SystmOne experience
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding of 18 weeks referral to treatment (RTT) rules and use of them to manage all patient journeys
