The Children's Respiratory Specialist Nurse will act as a resource to other professionals by utilising expert knowledge and skills and provide specialist asthma advise to children and their families on request/referral. This includes supporting GP practices as part of the Asthma Support Program, as well as driving the asthma friendly school project within the Borough. The post holder will focus on enabling other professionals to provide asthma support to children and young people in Ealing, by raising awareness, improving care and help to reduce school absences and hospital admissions, so that all children and young people can lead a full and active life and to reach their full potential.

Job summary
We are looking to recruit a competent and motivated individual with a dynamic approach to meeting the needs of the large and diverse population across Ealing. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Band 7 Paediatric Respiratory Specialist Nurse with an interest in asthma.
The main objectives of the Ealing Paediatric Asthma Service is to improve care and reduce exacerbation of asthma through education. In addition the post has a consultative function for GP's and identified high risk children.
Working as part of the wider Children's Specialist Community Nursing Service, the post holder will be required to work as an autonomous practitioner providing expert clinical care, education, and support to patients and their families, ensuring comprehensive asthma management and improving overall health outcomes . Together with the North West London Asthma Network the nurse will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, schools, and other community services to deliver a coordinated approach to asthma care working alongside Paediatricians, primary care and other partners.
The post holder will be based at Carmelita House, but requires to travel across the borough of Ealing, so having access to a car is desirable.
