Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an Activity Coordinator (Band 3) with a keen interest in mental health to join the team at Horton Rehabilitation Service.

Horton Rehabilitation Service provides inpatient rehabilitation to adults with complex and enduring mental health. There are three units onsite consisting of two High Dependency Units and The Cottages which provides open/community rehabilitation.

We are looking for an Activity Coordinator to join the Occupational Therapy Team and work as part of the MDT on one of the high dependency units.

Hortonis located in Epsom, Surrey and is situated within spacious grounds and is a short distance from Epsom Town, providing good transport links, free onsite parking and access to local amenities.

Main duties of the job

Activity Coordinators work within the wards contribute significantly to how people experience our services. The main aspects of the AC role are to:

- provide interventions with personal recovery principles in order to improve the service users' quality of life and to support them to do the things they want to do and live the life they want to lead.

- facilitate a programme of social, creative and skills-based activities to both individuals and groups which promotes social inclusion for service users.

- work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) in leading on the facilitation of client centred activities.

The post holder will receive regular supervision by an Occupational Therapist and opportunities for training through Central and North West London Learning and Development Zone and the Recovery and Wellbeing College. Staff are also encouraged to develop their skills through reflection and learning.
