Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join Brent Taking Therapies in the role of Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) and Outreach Coordinator. We are located in the vibrant and diverse London borough of Brent, and provide low and high intensity CBT at Step 2 and Step 3, alongside our Step 3 counselling service.

We are looking for a clinician with substantive clinical experience working within the Step 2 provision of an NHS Talking Therapies service, plus experience working as a senior psychological wellbeing practitioner including line management and supervision responsibilities. This role includes coordination of our outreach work, so the postholder must have experience of working with diverse communities.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for clinicians who would like to progress within the Step 2 provision of a talking therapies service and develop their leadership skills .We expect clinicians who are strongly interested in career progression within the Step 2 provision apply for this post and can demonstrate a commitment to stay in post for a period of time.

You must have BABCP registration as a PWP to apply for this post.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will provide low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions to service users from Brent Talking Therapies. They will work as part of the leadership team to ensure the successful and effective day-to-day management of the Step 2 Service so that it provides a responsive, high quality service to service users with common mental health problems.

This post holder will have specific lead areas of responsibility, as well as, ensuring the effective assessment, treatment and discharge of service users within the Step 2 service, whilst maintaining a good level of service user involvement. The role will involve supporting the Step 2 lead in managing staff and resources and meeting stringent data collection requirements.

The postholder will have lead responsibility for coordinating outreach for the team and this includes liaising with local community organisations, supporting Step 2 team in the delivery of assisted interventions and supervising the community connectors to ensure there is a good level of liaison and engagement with the local community and ensuring that there is improved access for underrepresented groups within the service.

About us

The catchment area of the post is the London borough of Brent. The main hubs for the service are Fairfields House in Kingsbury and Bell House in Willesden Green.You will be required to work across both hubs and in other parts of the borough, e.g. GP surgeries and community settings.

We operate an agile working policy where staff combine remote working and being on-site to deliver face-to-face appointments and other service commitments that require a hub-based presence. The post-holder will work full-time hours and may be required to work at any times between 8am and 8pm on weekdays including an evening clinic as required by the service.

Wellbeing is important within our service and we are a collaborative and cohesive team. We have a dedicated wellbeing group within the service to help support individuals' and the wider team wellbeing.
