8B Highly Specialist Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist - Brent, Harrow and Hillingdon Under 5s Service

We are delighted to offer a new 8B Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist post covering the three outer London boroughs of Brent, Harrow and Hillingdon. This is a great opportunity to build on your experience as a senior Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist and support a thriving new service together with the Lead CAPT.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a committed ACP registered Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist with a passion for working with children, young people and their families. You will work together with the Lead Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist in developing the BHH Under 5s service providing supervision to the multidisciplinary team, liaising and consulting with Children's Centres and other community agencies and ensuring the best possible outcomes for children under 5 and their families.

This role will allow opportunity to contribute specialist knowledge to the multi-disciplinary team and regular supervision to Band 7 CAPTs and an ACP trainee when placed within the team.

As one of the senior members of the team, you will work alongside senior CNWL staff and contribute to the service's development, as we continue to strive to be an accessible, responsive and innovative service with patient care and patient experience at its heart. There will be opportunities to further develop your leadership and strategic skills with support from senior colleagues.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Honours Degree
  • Completion of an ACP (Association of Child Psychotherapists) Doctoral level postgraduate clinical training in Psychoanalytic Child and Adolescent Significant Psychotherapy (including personal psycho-analysis)
  • Registration as Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist with the ACP
  • Continuing professional development (required by the ACP)

Desirable

  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of child & adolescent psychotherapy practice especially relevant to complex CAMHS
  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of child & adolescent psychotherapy practice especially relevant to complex CAMHS

Experience

Essential

  • Assessed experience of working as a qualified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist for a significant time with an equally significant time at as a Grade 8a or equivalent
  • Extensive experience of working with children, adolescents, their families, and the professional network of relevance to their care
  • Extensive experience of working with children, adolescents, their families, and the professional network of relevance to their care
  • Experience of managing and supervising others in a clinical and performance management context
  • Experience of developing and delivering bespoke CAMHS training to non CAMHS professionals

Desirable

  • Experience of the application of child & adolescent psychotherapy in different cultural contexts
  • Research interest in any topic relevant to the specific service
  • Training in clinical supervision
