CNWL are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Consultant Psychiatrist to work full time within the Early intervention team, providing input to a high functioning community EIS as part of a multi-disciplinary service.
Main duties of the job
To provide consultant psychiatric input to a high functioning community EIS as part of a multi-disciplinary service. The role is to provide a comprehensive assessment and NICE concordant treatment package of care to all patients.
To provide clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality care in Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster (KCW) EIS team.
Supervision, teaching and training of junior staff, medical students, specialist nurses, other nurses and other MDT staff.
To participate actively in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Care Quality, and service evaluation projects

The post holder will have principal duties to provide clinical care to Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster residents under the KCW EIS. They will be supported by the MDT team that includes a specialty doctor and a Foundation trainee.
The post holder will provide joint leadership with the manager, for the performance culture of the team, ensuring best practice is employed, and that the Trusts quality and productivity targets are met. They will promote good clinical care for all patients for both their mental health and physical health.
The post holder will adopt a pragmatic leadership style, thus ensuring collaborative working both at a clinical and an operational level.
The post holder will be expected to participate in Quality Improvement and service evaluation projects and will be encouraged to undertake any research which may be relevant to either short or long-term service improvement.
Together with the team manager the post holder will provide overall clinical leadership for the EIS multidisciplinary team as well as direct clinical assessments and consultations for the Team, including the following:
Medical input, consultation, clinical leadership and overall RC responsibility for patients.
Medical input and leadership in care planning and risk assessment for patients subject to the care planning (CPA) process.
Responsible Clinician with responsibilities of attendance at and report-writing for Mental Health Tribunals and Managers hearings.
Regular clinical liaison with the Inpatient Consultants, Community Mental Health Teams and the Home Treatment Team.
