We are looking for a compassionate and highly motivated Ward Manager with management experience to lead a dedicated clinical team. This is an exciting opportunity to come and join an AIMS accredited older adults ward team in the Jameson Division.
You will be able to demonstrate progressive skills in leadership, advanced clinical practice, and service development. We are seeking senior nurses who are looking to further their career and you will be joining a multi-disciplinary team that is committed to the provision of high quality and patient-centred care, continuous service and staff development, and strong collaborative working with other agencies.
You will have clear aims for the ward's development and be able to achieve goals set. Firm evidence of how you as a leader have positively affected team dynamics and improved clinical effectiveness is required. You must be able to motivate staff to achieve high standards, and possess excellent communication skills as components to achieve Trust goals.
The post-holder will have specific responsibility for managing the day to day functioning of the ward, providing a dynamic leadership role for the ward team. Ensuring at all times that the needs of service users are at the centre of the ward philosophy, that there are good working relationships with all members of the Multidisciplinary Team and other agencies.

1. QUALITY OF CARE
Promote the health and well-being of patients and maintain a safe, caring and therapeutic environment.
2. MANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES
Develop and maintain appropriate performance and quality measures for the ward's activities and monitor performance against them. Take appropriate action to ensure that agreed standards are achieved and improved on.
3. COMMUNICATION AND LIAISON
To develop a communication system which ensures the flow of current information to and from hospital meetings, forums and the wider health economy for all staff.
4. RETENTION AND RECRUITMENT
Maintain an adequately staffed, appropriately skilled and motivated workforce.
5. PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
To continue professional development through a variety of strategies including attending study days, clinical placements, lectures and appropriate courses.
6. HEALTH AND SAFETY
Ensure that the environment is safe as laid down in the Health and Safety at Work Act and that agreed safety procedures are carried out and a safe environment is maintained for staff, patients and visitors.

We are the largest provider of NHS in-patient mental health rehabilitation beds in the country;
