Qualifications

Essential

  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology or its equivalent, including specific models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two (such as CBT) or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS/BABCP.
  • Eligibility for: Registration with the Health and Social Care Professions Council as a Practioner Psychologist.

Desirable

  • Post-Doctoral training in clinical approaches relevant to work with complex and severe mental health difficulties such as DBT, SAFE, cognitive behavioural therapies and/or systemic work.

Experience

Essential

  • At least 5 years post qualification experience of working in mental health settings, including specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in patient settings, particularly for young people.
  • Experience of working in acute mental health inpatient or crisis settings, working with a range of age ranges, cultures and clinical groups.
