Job summary

Due to new funding, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a MEED Practitioner post within the all age Vincent Square Eating Disorders Service. The MEED Liaison practitioner will be an experienced nurse or dietician with experience in assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic interventions used in the treatment of Eating Disorders.

You will need to be a motivated, empathic, skilled and dedicated individual who can work well both autonomously and within a team, and possess excellent communication skills. You will be well supported in your role by a friendly, dynamic MDT as well as receive regular line management and clinical supervision both individually as well as team based.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve providing support, expert clinical advice and teaching to colleagues within acute hospital settings, in relation to the management, care and treatment of patients of all ages with Eating Disorders in line with the MEED guidelines.

The MEED Liaison Practitioner will work both autonomously and in conjunction with the wider MDT in assessing, diagnosing, planning and implementing care; whilst maintaining associated healthcare records within the acute inpatient and eating disorder settings. They will have experience in managing nasogastric feeding and supporting the transition to an oral diet.

They will offer support and supervision to colleagues within the eating disorder service and provide specialist advice relevant to their clinical practice and expertise. They will provide clinical advice appropriate to their professional background and provide profession specific advice to the wider team.

In collaboration with colleagues they will continue the development and implementation of MEED pathways in acute hospital settings across the Central and North West London catchment area, therefore the post holder will have a flexible approach to working and be able to work with multiple teams.

About us

SERVICE OVERVIEW

Vincent Square Eating Disorders Service is an all-age service with an adult inpatient ward, day programme, children and young people service and adult outpatient team. It is the specialist service provider for patients living in the boroughs of Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Brent and Harrow. In addition, the service accepts national referrals for specialist in-patient and day-patient care.

The service has a main base in South Kensington in Central London as well as a satellite clinic at Roxborough Road in Harrow. The role will also involve being required to work across multiple acute hospital settings across the Central and North West London catchment area. The successful candidate's preference for working at either site will be taken into consideration, and systems are in place to allow flexible working from home for all clinicians which is agreed with your manager and dependent on service need.
