Surrey Sexual Health Services has up to 37.5 (WTE 1) available for Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) and Dual Customer Care Officer (Receptionist) to work at Earnsdale Sexual Health Clinic, Redhill

The post includes clinical and general office duties consisting of, supporting clinical staff, clinical duties, phlebotomy, chaperoning, microscopy, inputting patient details on our electronic patient record system, helping to cover a busy reception, liaising with patients, dealing with enquiries by telephone.

Main duties of the job
The role is a dual role including reception and clinical work. Training will be offered to appropriate candidate. For the position you will:-
- have a non-judgemental approach to sexual health
- demonstrate an active interest in Sexual Health
- have the ability to work within the team both administrative and clinical tasks.
- chaperoning and assisting the clinical team in all aspects of out-patient care
- undertake phlebotomy including patients who have been diagnosed with HIV

Job responsibilities
- The post holder will support the multidisciplinary team.
- They will assist patients through the clinic, chaperone doctors and nurses.
- Manage asymptomatic male and female patients and screen for sexually transmitted infections.
- To book appointments on the computer system, deal with information sensitively and professionally, refer where appropriate, take messages in a polite professional manner.
- To record client attendances/cancellations and code on the computer system.
- To carry out general reception duties, such as inputting information, photocopying and requesting archived patient notes when required.
- To provide continuous support to new staff who are undergoing training including the electronic patient record
- To alert senior staff to any IT/phone issues including highlight any training requirements.
- To participate in ordering/maintaining condom supply for the clinic.
- To occasionally prepare/create agendas/minutes
- To support and adapt to any changes that are implemented to improve the service; including participation in audit, quality and monitoring initiatives.
- To undertake microscopy as required (training will be provided)
